a poem by Uri Hollander

Debussy

Preludes meant to be played
in front of a small audience.
A silent piece on a big stage.
To play a cloud. To play snow.
Epopees of gnomes.
An epigram of smoke.

~ from his Days of the Tel-Aviv Conservatory

  1. These are images I enjoy seeing in my mind's eye--I'm not a musician by profession, but I could almost hear the strains of "Clair de Lune" when I close my eyes.
