Some more of my poems

Peculiar Moods at Issuu

  1. I read "poem". I loved all the wine connections (but of course). Tim I discovered I could print these books of yours if I signed up. I'm going to do it. It's really hard for me to read on the computer. I'm so excited :)

  2. Thank you, Annie. That pleases me. And wine is a good thing. :)

  3. Annie, I woke up this morning with a thought. I think most people who are serious about writing poems desire to have at least one person who takes them seriously. Who is willing to consider one's work as a whole, not just the experience of isolated poems.

The fact that you signed up with Issuu and intend to print out one or both of my poem collections is a gesture of serious attention. That does indeed please me, and I thank you so much. It makes it all worthwhile, even beyond the original act of creating, which is also a form of subtle joy.

  4. True. I am happy to be your Person, although I am sure there are many more. I am just the loudest! I printed out both your books today. I also printed out a copy for a friend of mine...a voracious poetess eater. She will be so happy to receive them. She has so much poetry that it thrills me to find something worthy to send her that she has not already collected :) I happened to see SHUFFLING as the sheets were whizzing out of the copier. My friend reads Tarot. Another blogger calls her a white witch. Thinks she has power :) I just think she seeks. But she will drool over Shuffling, as well as the rest. I am also excited to sit down and read the collection cover to cover...nice glass of wine...quiet commotion at the footstool of Tim. Damn ISSU won't let me order a printed book. Why is the button grayed out? I'm going to check into it. My dad self publishes books of his artwork through some Apple application. I'll check out which, but I was able to purchase a beautiful hardbound book with lovely full color replications of his art. $25 each. But worth it. If you figure it out before me...give me a shout at pobox22athotmaildotcom.

  5. I am beyond honored.

I didn't even know Issuu had an option to order a printed book. Maybe that's for clients (writers) who made some kind of special arrangement? I'll check it out, to see what's what.

A FB friend said that I uploaded my stuff in the wrong size. He said I should have done my "books" as 6 x 9, instead of full paper size. I thought about redoing it all, but then changed my mind. If I changed it to 6 x 9, the print-outs would have a whole lotta blank white space around the text.

About "shuffling" -- when I was younger, I got into a weird, esoteric mood, a fascination with Tarot cards' symbolism. That old memory was in the back of my mind when I wrote this poem. But mainly I'm using those cards as a stand in for how all of life -- human reality -- is just as weird as those images. How all of existence is like some riddle that Someone or maybe No One knows the answer to. :)

  6. FYI - I just printed out the manual for my camera. The format was @ 6x9 which left all kinds of room on each page. Annoying. If there was an option to purchase a bound book, I would say 6x9 would be the obvious choice. But most of us don't print on 6x9 paper. We are stuck with copy paper, three hole punched in a binder (undeserving of the author).

  7. Yeah, unless the thing could be gotten as an actual bound book, I think full size is best. That way there's not a bunch of dead white space around the printed text. Thank you again, Annie.
